Happy Easter!

Easter was a little different this year, as we weren't able to travel since my baby brother is due so soon.  Rather than heading to St. Louis, we stayed home and celebrated as a family of three.  While we missed everyone dearly, we have to admit that we enjoyed the time to actually relax on Easter weekend, without the stress of packing and driving.  Even though we weren't with extended family, we still continued the traditions that usually happen in O'Fallon such as Easter baskets, an egg hunt, and dying Easter eggs.  And of course, we went to church to celebrate the real reason for the holiday.  It was fun to be at our home church for Easter Sunday!

Check out pictures from our day:

We woke up EARLY Sunday morning to see that the Easter Bunny had visited and even nibbled on a few carrots!

I also got several goodies from Mama Sarah, Aunt Susie, Aunt Donna, Gramma, and Papa.  I really love this colorful bunny they sent!  Thank you!

After the Easter surprises, we had a leisurely breakfast before heading to church.  On Easter Eve, Mama and I baked a coffee cake in honor of Daddy's birthday (he was in Chicago house hunting for us on his actual birthday, so we celebrated his special day on Easter as well).  We also made a fruit salad, and then Dad cooked up some delicious eggs and bacon.  It was all yummy!

Once breakfast was over, we got ready for church, and after the service, all the kids in the congregation got to look for Easter Eggs on the front lawn.  I found my ten eggs in record time!

Formal Easter pictures this year were "catch me if you can!"  Mom got a couple good ones...

Here I am waiting to look for eggs on the church lawn.

That afternoon, we had our own Easter egg hunt in our backyard.

And finally, that evening, we dyed Easter eggs together as a family.

It was a good, fun-filled family day.

But more importantly, He is risen!  He is risen indeed, Alleluia!  (Alleluia means woohoo!! in church talk.)

Happy Easter!
Love,
Elijah
